From the New Hanover Airport:
Leaving the airport -take a left onto 23rd Street. Turn left on Martin
Luther King Parkway which continues to Wrightsville Beach. When you cross the drawbridge, take Highway 76
East (It's the
two lanes that veer to your right). Stay on Highway 76 East until you come to a stop
light. Take a right at the stoplight (Waynick Boulevard). The hotel is three blocks on the left.From the Raleigh/Durham area:
Take I-4O East to Wilmington. As you approach Wilmington, the speed limit will change from
70mph to 55mph. At the second stop light, take a left onto Hwy. 74 (Martin
Luther King Parkway. This intersection
is clearly marked. Continue straight approximately 6 miles. When Hwy 74 ~ Hwy 76 merge at the Wrightsville Beach
Drawbridge, stay in the righthand lane and follow Hwy. 76 East past the Municipal Bldg. on
your left and over the Banks Channel stationary bridge to the traffic light. Turn right at
the traffic light onto Waynick Boulevard. The Blockade Runner is approximately 1/2 mile on
your left.
From the Charlotte area or the Western part of the state:
Take Hwy. 74 or 76 East to Wilmington. You will cross the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge over
the Cape Fear River. At the base of the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge, stay straight on
Oleander Drive/Hwy 76 East; Wrightsville Beach is 8 miles. Follow Oleander
Drive/Hwy. 76 East through Wilmington, and when Hwy. 74 ~ 76 merge at the Wrightsville
Beach Drawbridge, stay in the right hand lane and follow Hwy. 76 East past the Municipal
Bldg. on your left and over the Banks Channel stationary bridge to the traffic light. Turn
right at the traffic light onto Waynick Boulevard. The Blockade Runner is approximately 1/2
mile on your left.
From the South Carolina or Myrtle Beach area:
Take Hwy. 17 North to Wilmington. You will cross the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge over the
Cape Fear River. At the base of the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge, stay straight on Oleander
Drive/Hwy. 76 East because Wrightsville Beach is only 8 miles away. Follow Oleander
Drive/Hwy. 76 East through Wilmington, and when Hwy. 74 ~ 76 merge at the Wrightsville
Beach Drawbridge, stay in the right hand lane and follow Hwy. 76 East past the Municipal
Bldg. on your left and over the Banks Channel stationary bridge to the traffic light. Turn
right at the traffic light onto Waynick Boulevard. The Blockade Runner is approximately 1/2
mile on your left.
